A large grey schist of a standing bodhisattva, Gandhara, superbly carved in the round standing on a plinth with flower heads flanking a stupa, dressed in Sanghati pooling over his voluminous trousers, bejewelled and with left hand lowered, his right forearm lost in antiquity, his face in a benevolent expression with finely delineated features, heavy eye lids and pendulous earlobes, his hair arranged in locks rising over the ushnisha, his face backed by a smooth nimbus, the whole raised upon black plinth, 164 cm. high x 46 cm. x 34 cm.
