A late 18th century emerald ring
The Giardinetti rings reflect in the 18th century the life of the court with its entertainments, its sweetness and a certain carefree spirit. The asymmetry and finesse in the treatment of the trefoil visible under the bezel are characteristic of the first half of the 18th century, while the late period is marked by more rigid lines and the suppleness of the design gives way to a well-ordered symmetry.
