"Gägon", or "ge gon" called beaked mask of the Dan-Yacouba. Depicted is a mythological bird (probably the toucan), considered by the Dan as a bringer of culture.
The figure traditionally dances alone, accompanied by an orchestra, for entertainment and to promote social cohesion in the community.
