Yoel Benharrouche was born in 1961 in Beersheba, Israel. He arrived in France at the age of 12 and from 1985, he studied at the Beaux Arts in Nice and at the Villa Béatrix where he perfected his techniques. His great involvement and sensitivity led him to become an eminent professor of drawing and painting at the Paganini Academy in Nice.
Greatly influenced by masters such as Chagall, Picasso and Miro, his aesthetic originates in spiritual inspirations, as well as in the study of religious texts of the Jewish tradition that he has carried out throughout his life.
His ever-evolving work evokes a passion for color, life and the spiritual nature of existence.
In 1993, he returned to Israel with his family, his native land which he believes is the ideal place for his inspiration.
He has been hailed by critics as a proven talent and his work can be found in major international collections.
