Table. Italy, 19th century. Marble and alabaster. Measurements: 75 cm (height) x 90 cm (diameter of top). The splendid technique of inlaid marble and alabaster is perfectly reflected in the table on tender. Standing on a tripod base, it has a turned shaft with a central knot. The top is modelled on the magnificent hard-stone work of Italian Mannerism, made of inlaid marble rather than marquetry of stones, representing a radial motif framed by an octagon and a geometric border based on rhombuses.
