Jug; Real Fábrica de Platería Martínez, circa 1800. Silver and wood. It has punches. Heraldic motif of Viceroy of New Spain. Measurements: 29 x 19 x 12 cm, Weight: 906 grams. Jug made in silver with a wooden handle that has a square base on which a round foot rests, giving way to a body in the form of a goblet. The upper part of the body is delimited by a chain of small balls that run around the perimeter and give way to the high neck of the goblet, which ends with a duck-billed mouth. The jug has a lid decorated with a top handle in the shape of a pine cone. The front of the piece shows several ornamental motifs; a large M in the body area and in the upper area a heraldic coat of arms has a Like all the royal factories (tapestries, porcelain and glass), the Royal Silverware Factory Martínez was a project devised by Charles III, who rescued the model of the French state, applying it to Spain with the intention of providing benefits to the state coffers. At first it was known as the Real Escuela de Platería y Maquinas, although finally the name Real Fábrica de Platería Martínez was adopted, taking the name of the renowned silversmith of Aragon, Antonio Martínez Barrio.
