Large microscope, so-called reflection microscope (illumination mirror), gold-plated. The fast movement, as well as the slow movement controlled by a rear screw, is obtained by two flat rules sliding one on the other and maintained vertical by two loops; it is the mode adapted for all PASSEMANT microscopes.
The stage is equipped with a spring-loaded specimen holder and an illuminating magnifier. On the circumference of the base, we read
Passemant, engineer of the king, in the Louvre, in Paris. The whole is mounted on a rosewood base, whose drawer contains the spare lenses and various accessories.
It is probably around 1755 that this microscope was built.
In its case.
