This well-paced story, scripted by Jijé's son Philip, was inked by Gir, a helping hand that Jijé would return to Jean Giraud a few years later when he, in turn, was stuck with deadlines. In this scene, a ranch is set on fire by Silver, a half-breed of white man and Yaqui Indian with dubious associations. His motive has a name: the treasure of the conquistadors! The Jerry Spring and Pancho duo is well established. This story is even more characteristic of the Mexican sidekick, who turns out to be a tracker at least equal to an Indian.
