A rare cavalry helmet, epoch Charles Albert of Sardinia (1831-1849)
dating: Second quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Piedmont, Iron skull, a band with remains of fur at the base, featuring an ornament with Savoy eagle; crest with gilded brass comb featuring lion's head in bas-relief and ornament with crowned monogram 'CA' at the base. Armoured chin-straps with brass plates. Black leather sweat-band inside and pierced cap made of green leather. A rare helmet of Piedmontese Cavalry used from 1833 to 1845. height 33 cm.
