A black-and-white half armour dating: early 17th Century provenance: Southern Germany, Burgonet with skull in two halves joining at the medium-height crest. Sharp brim in one piece with the skull, single-plate nape guard held by rivets. Probably coeval cheek-pieces. With interesting, well-marked hallmark on the prim. Helmet decorated with iron-color, relieved bands on a background blackened with bituminous lacquer (later refreshed?). Cheek-pieces with a rare closure system featuring a metallic loop. Gorget with three-plate spaudlers, the front side with the same mark as the helmet. Complete, five-plate spaudlers, the left one with some plates partially detached. Pauldrons decorated with iron-color band on blackened areas. Breast-plate with well-marked tapul, movable pauldron small-plates, twisted ropes, two-plate backpiece. Unmatched, period tassets, one with seven plates and the other with six plates. Also these elements feature a black-and-white decoration. On a wooden support. height 1 cm.
