A rare and beautiful closed helmet
dating: circa 1600 provenance: Sweden, Skull in one piece with low, twisted comb and with an open-work at the center, two double grooves on both sides divided by a central raiser decorated with notches. Elegant intact visor ribbed at the center with eye-slots and very long ribbed spike, provided with air holes at the upper part and on both sides. Well-marked beaver ribbed at the center. Hooks for the visor and the beaver. Two lateral pins shaped as chrysanthemums. Three neck-guard plates and nape-guard decorated en suite, double groove with raiser and roped border. Restored inner leather strings. A model with low crest, provided with intact, strongly cusped visor, in the collection of Llivrustkammaren, inventory number 24718. height 30 cm.
