A five-barreled percussion pepperbox by Mariette
dating: about 1855 provenance: Belgium, Smoothbore, cylindrical, turn-off, twisted, barrels (needs cleaning inside) with remains of finishing, numbered from1 to 5 at the base and with crowned 'M' mark. The rotating block with nipples in line with the barrel, mark of the Liege test bench. The hammer with remains of browning on the lower part. Ring trigger. Steel frame of almost cylindrical shape engraved with rocaille. Central band of the grip marked 'MARIETTE B.TE'. Smooth wooden grip scales (briarwood?). Some pitting and stains, easy to remove. Well working mechanism. length 17,8 cm.
