FRANCE ORDER OF THE LEGION OF HONOR (1802) Metal plate of grand officer or grand-cross, from the July Monarchy period. In silver entirely worked with diamond points pierced. Between each branch of the flags lined with gold enamel tricolor. Center in silver, with profile of Henry head to the right and legend "HONOR AND PATRY" on a gray background, in gold. Reverse side with two hooks and tilting pin with mark of "DASSIER BREVETÉ DU PRINCE ROYAL RUE DE RICHELIEU 12 - PARIS". Boar's head hallmark on the hook. 82 mm - Gross weight : 37 g In its hexagonal case covered with green morocco, sheathed in silk and ivory velvet. T.T.B. Dassier : manufacturer of military equipment and supplier of orders of chivalry at the end of the Restoration and under the July Monarchy. A plate having belonged to the Duke of Aumale (diameter 75 mm) carrying his mark "DASSIER, Chapelier passementier, breveté de S.A.R Monsgr le Duc d'Orléans, à Paris, rue de Richelieu, n°12" in the collections of Chantilly.
