Note:
The Martel brothers were reference figures in Art Deco sculpture. Their work allowed them to participate in the most important Salons of the time (Salon des indépendants, Salon d'automne, etc.) and in the Exposition des arts décoratifs of 1925. It was that same year that a collaboration began with Robert Mallet-Stevens, and it was at his request that the Martel brothers created the monumental bas-relief of the hall of the famous Villa Noailles. They would later have the interior of their private mansion designed by Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand and Francis Jourdain. This house/workshop is now classified as a historical monument.
