Charles-Guillaume DIEHL (1811-1885), Cabinetmaker & Emmanuel FRÉMIET (1824-1910) Sculptor, Planter with quadrangular body in blackened wood decorated with ormolu snakes on the sides and a terra cotta bas-relief with a crowned dragon motif.
Quadripod base with four circular feet decorated with gilt bronze elements. Removable pewter receptacle. Circa 1870.

Our planter is similar to the cigar box kept in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam under the number BK-2011-6.
