Influenced by the work of the cabinetmaker Adam Weisweiler, Henry Dasson is inspired here by a model of
of a chest of drawers with two leaves, one of which is a double leaf, in moiré mahogany, flanked by detached
detached columns. This one was supplied in 1788 by the merchant-merchant Daguerre to Louis XVI at the Château de
Saint-Cloud (today kept in the castle of Compiègne, Inv. C.46020).
