- To be compared with the composition titled "PELDA-B" sold for the benefit of the Vasarely Foundation on March 7, 2009 at Drouot (lot 42).
The exhibition "Mouvement" organized in 1955 at the Denise René Gallery, which brings together Calder, Soto, Tinguely and Vasarely, is the occasion for the artist to publish his "Yellow Manifesto" which marks the beginnings of kinetic art.
Vasarely's notes lay the foundations and define the essential orientations of the movement: "Form can only exist once it is signaled by a colored quality. Color is only a quality once it is delimited in form. The line (drawing, contour) is a fiction that does not belong to one, but to two forms-color, it results from their meeting. "
It is thus born an original discourse that presupposes a mutual relationship between works and public, movement and variations of artificial light.
