The Rouart family was close to the Impressionist painters, including Mary Cassatt. The painter Henri Rouart appeared alongside them in the 5th and 6th Impressionist exhibitions in 1880 and 1881. Alexis Rouart (1869-1921) bought several paintings from the American artist.Provenance: Ambroise Vollard (1866-1939) then H. M. Petiet (1894-1980).
