Oenochoe handle in bronze with brown patina representing a half-naked woman. She is adorned with a cordial necklace, bracelets and a pair of earrings. She is wearing a twisted bun. Her nicely draped himation covers her lower back and her left leg. She is leaning against a finial. Roman period, 1st-2nd century. H: 15,5 cm. Provenance : Sale of the H. Hoffmann collection, Hôtel Drouot, 28 and 29 May 1888, lot 380, illustrated in the catalog. Then in the collection of Mr. Paul Angoulvent (1899-1976), former director of the chalcography of the Louvre, founder of the Presses Universitaires de France from 1934 to 1968, he would have acquired the object in 1950 (bristol sheet)
