Oushebti of Tja-Enna-Hebou, director of the royal fleet. Mummiform Oushebti, leaning on a dorsal pillar, standing on a rectangular base, he holds in his hand the hoe and the yoke, 11 lines of hieroglyphic inscription. His tomb is in the Cairo Museum. Egypt, Saite period, end of the XXVIth dynasty, at Saqqara. Blue-green earthenware. H :18,5 cm. Provenance : Former collection of Christian Rolle, agricultural engineer, specialist in irrigation in Egypt, in the 1940s. The tomb of Tja-Enna-Hebou was found by Alexandre Barsanti and Gaston Maspero in Sakkara in 1900. It contained more than four hundred oushebtis. Barsanti describes them as "of a beautiful work and of a rather beautiful soft blue" (J.-F. and L. Aubert, Statuettes égyptiennes. Chaoubtis, Ouchebtis, 1974, p.227).
