ANNE BRIGMAN (1869-1950) Portrait of a young lady, 1920 Image Size: 24,1 x 18,4 cm Vintage gelatin silver print on double-weight matte paper, in excellent condition, mounted on original cardboard, with two layers of additional decorative cards 46 x 37,7 cm. Signed, with a seagull drawn by the photographer, and dated in the image lower left. Two other photographs are known from the same session with the young lady; typical of Brigman's portraits from the early 1920s, in addition to the elaborate signature, is a background made of an artisanal object, either with ornaments or, as in this case, with shiny texture, which embeds the figure in an artificial context.
