Curious large Versailles flintlock rifle, long octagonal barrel slightly blunderbussed with six strong rifling, 15.5 or 16 mm caliber, equipped with an adjustable rise, length 84.5 cm; lock of type an IX, stamped and signed: "MRE IMPLE DE VERSAILLES"; rear part fittings on the model of those of the rifle an IX in iron, the counterplate in brass, and the three brass ramrod holders on the model of those of Versailles; walnut stock; strong iron ramrod; total length 123 cm. (Stock pitted at the back; important cracks at the shaft).
