Venice: Bonetus Locatellus, per Octavianus Scotus, 1487. Volume collecting two rare commentaries on Aristotle's physics, a postincunabulum and an incunabulum, with numerous coeval annotations; the second work, in third edition, unfortunately incomplete. 4to, (290 x 205mm). First work: frontispiece, typographical mark to colophon, text in two columns, woodcut initials (small woodworm work not touching text in upper inner margin). Second work: first blank paper present, typographical mark to colophon, text in two columns, woodcut initials (six papers missing: h2-h8, small woodworm work not touching text at upper inner margin, some antique notes trimmed externally, some sporadic blooming). Sixteenth-century full vellum binding with manuscript title on spine, red boards (slight defects). Provenance: Numerous coeval notes and underlining in margins and text, some trimmed at outer edges.
