Genuine copy in coeval coloring of the first edition of this important, richly illustrated treatise on heraldry. The second part is devoted entirely to the De Rosmadec family.
2 parts in one volume, folio, (320 x 215mm). Antiporta, vignette on title page, portrait of author and coat of arms of De la Colombiere, numerous heraldic plates including 10 out of text. Second part with allegorical frontispiece and 8 plates out of text (lightly browned, some staining and blooming, occasional small tears, sometimes short at margins with loss of part of engraving at lower margin of endpapers 3b, 3g2, fascicle 3 p with reinforcements at lower margin, allegorical frontispiece of second part with folded outer margins and some small lack of engraving). Contemporary full leather binding with decorations and title in gold on spine. Provenance: ex libris Ruescas (old signature to the guards).
