Attributed to Sébastien YOUF H. 76,5 Diameter. 70 cm YOUF Sébastien (1771-1850) Cabinetmaker of the Princess Elisa from 1807 to 1811. Quoted in the De Lucques archives Young brother of Jean-Baptiste-Gilles YOUF, he came to Paris to join his elder brother who was living at 35, rue du Bac. It is thanks to the proximity of the hotel of the street of the Chair, or lived the princess Elisa Baciocchi, sister of Napoleon, that this one asked him to come to Lucques to establish a manufacture of pieces of furniture. The signature of the cabinetmaker can be found on some of the most original Tuscan neoclassical furniture, which are kept in the collections of the Palis PITTI apartments. Other realizations, such as our pedestal table, can be attributed to him because they have in common the characteristic ornaments of his manufacture and his style which are published in the work: ENRICO COLLE IL MOBILE IMPERO IN ITALIA arredi e decorazioni d'interni dal 1800 al 1843.
