Lyon, Emmanuel VITTE, 1925. One volume. 13 by 20 cm. XX-one facsimile on fold-out plate-703 pages. Brown half-maroquin with corners, 5-rib spine (modern binding), gilt head. Binding in perfect condition. Slight light spotting in upper margin on a few leaves at beginning and end of volume, title page restored with a few tears, otherwise good condition. Autograph letter from Cardinal GERLIER, Archbishop of Lyon. Enclosed: A period photograph of the Curé d'Ars on his deathbed, who died on August 4, 1859. Some foxing in the margins, very good condition. 13 by 9.5 cm for the photo, large frame around it. A current book enriched by a rare mailing, and an even rarer photograph Le Curé d'Ars refused to be photographed. This mortuary photo is the only one we have of him.
