Contemporary full red morocco, 5-rib spine, richly ornamented caissons, boards bearing the coat of arms of Philippe d'ORLEANS, regent of France, with triple gilt framing, roulette on cups, interior roulette, all edges gilt. Small defect at upper head of volume 1, two corners slightly worn, otherwise very good condition of binding. Traces of wetness on a few leaves (not serious), a few freckles, a few leaves slightly foxed, otherwise good condition inside. 1st edition of this synthetic text, reprinted several times. A copy bearing the coat of arms of Philippe d'Orléans, regent of France from 1715 to 1723. An exceptional copy of this rare 1st edition.
