Blue and white porcelain vase China, Transitional period, mid-17th century Cylindrical, representing a dignitary holding a tablet and his procession arriving in front of a city gate, two servants offering him fruits and a cup, the neck decorated with a frieze of banana trees; small chips and enamel jumps at the border, slight scratches and wear H. 44.9 cm Provenance : Former collection of a French explorer in China in the 19th century, then by descent. Condition report : Few teeth or frittings to the mouth rim; few slight surface scratches and wears. Additional photographs on request.
