Bembe people, Democratic Republic of Congo, early 20th century Meeting of objects comprising a covered box in the shape of a half-moon, a covered box decorated with two figures, a statue representing a standing figure with a central crested headdress and a statuette of a bird. Carved and engraved wood, natural patina. Dimensions : 33x22,5x7 cm - 27x17 cm - 29X19 cm - 29 cm. Provenance : Collected in-situ by Fernand OLIVEDA, Knight of the Legion of Honor and Chief Administrator of the colonies from 1888 to 1930 (Madagascar, Senegal, Congo). In 1925, he was Chief of the Secretariat of the General Governor of the Middle Congo.
