Year of realization: 2012 Dimensions of the frame: H: 100; L: 100 cm Born in 1964 in Boulogne-Billancourt, France, Frank Jons has lived and worked in Luxembourg since 2001. A degree in accounting and finance in his pocket but a passion for painting since his childhood: he decided in 1996 to devote himself fully to it. The first trigger was the Estève exhibition at the Grand Palais. In 2000, he undertook an 8-month trip in a camper van with his wife and child to the United States and Canada as far as the Arctic Circle, which made him change his way of working because, as a practical matter, he switched from oil to acrylic during his journey. In 2008, the Pierre Werner prize made him recognized on the Luxembourgish art scene. The personal exhibitions follow one another, the public discovers his instinctive painting from which the color springs. Marathon runner, Frank Jons is an endurer. His painting is physical, his art a chromatic explosion. There is a kind of frenzy, a kind of trance when I paint, a kind of exaltation. It's all energy and I want it to be free of all constraints.
