Born in Meissen, Viktor Paul Mohn was one of Ludwig Richter's last students, along with Albert Venus. Mohn and Venus traveled to Italy in 1866/67 and Mohn then again in 1868/69. In these years, this atmospheric very delicate watercolor may have been created.
