Mid-seventeenth century manuscript in one volume in-8°, calf, double gilt fillet framing the boards, monogram "g g" in the center, ornate spine (period binding). 74 ff. calligraphied in ink from a manuscript by Louise Marguerite de Lorraine, princess of Conti (1574-1631), which was published in Paris, by the widow of Jean Guillemot, in 1651 or 1652, under the title Alcandre ou les Amours du Roy Henry le Grand. From the library of Benoist de La Pierre, with a manuscript bookplate dated 1669 on the title page. A few small accidents and restorations to the binding; some foxing, small stains and traces of wetness.
