ANONYMOUS: The admirable properties of blackcurrant, which has the virtue of curing several strong ailments; with a remedy for curing weeping, or weeping waffle; another for curing panicitis in a very simple way; and a third against intermittent fevers. Auxerre, chez François Fournier, MDCCXLVIII (1798), in-12, contemporary oiled paper boards, contemporary printed paper endpapers, 24 pp. warning. A small booklet containing the articles concerning the virtues of blackcurrant published in the "journal de Verdun" since 1742. After a description of the plant, the authors resume all the virtues and benefits of this fruit, both for humans and animals. We can put in parallel this collection with the "Traité du cassis ..." of JBP de Beaumont of the middle of the XVIIIth century. Vicaire, 714, gives as title "Propriétés, usage et qualités merveilleuse (sic) du cassis pour l'utilité publique", Paris, Valleyre, 1753. Not present in any bibliography. RARE and very well preserved. Some scattered foxing; but good general condition of binding and paper.
