Kunstgewerbeschule des k.k. Museums für Kunst und Industrie. Graduated in Paris, travelled to Italy, Belgium, Tunis. From 1890, member of the Wiener Künstlerhaus, later he taught at the k.k. Kunstgewerbeschule des k.k. Museums für Kunst und Industrie. In 1920 Veith was appointed professor. Teacher of Julius Smolik. His grave of honour in the Döblinger Friedhof was designed by the sculptor Georg Leisek. Working mainly in Neo-Rococo, Veith's work stylistically follows the historicist-symbolist tradition of Hans Makart and Anselm Feuerbach and belongs to the so-called decorative painting of historicism. Awards: Reichel Prize, Archduke Carl Ludwig Medal, Kaiser Prize.
