Marguerite DURAS.
Long autograph letter addressed to the novelist and friend Brigitte Favresse, March 13, 1980, where she begins by apologizing for not having written to her because "as I was writing for this magazine Les Cahiers du Cinéma I could not write anything else, especially letters".
In her long letter, the novelist was full of praise for Brigitte Favresse's novel "La Lise", which was published in 1982.
"I find your book very beautiful, very very beautiful... it exceeds by far, of course, what one can read in print... A reader of the current book production will never find himself in it. But it doesn't matter, it must remain difficult and not change a word of it", and even suggests him to make "a reading grid" to be published in the afterword.
She ends her letter with her diet worries "I am made to do a diet such that I am starving all day long, so I have to lock myself up in cinemas not to give in to the temptation of my cooking", and advises her to go and see the last film of Marco Ferrerri Pipicacadodo "(dirty title)...it is a real joy, not all of it but 3/4 of the film".
