Desk with eight legs called "Mazarin" of scalloped form, with inlaid decoration in first and counterpart of a grotesque decoration after Bérain in engraved brass on bottom of tortoise shell (Chelonioidea spp) (pre Convention) tinted red, opening in the center by a leaf and an upper drawer in belt and of two series of three drawers distributed on both sides. The top presents a symmetrical composition with in the center, in a poly-lobed reserve, a seated figure under a canopy flanked by eagles with spread wings. The border is underlined by scrolls, tendrils and scrolls alternating with roosters, exotic birds and helmeted figures in the spandrels. Each drawer is decorated with a marquetry of confronted sphinxes, the sides underlined by dancers under canopies among exotic birds and foliage. It rests on eight scrolled legs joined by two X-shaped braces ending in gilt bronze spinning tops.
