Signed and dated lower left 19.3 x 31 cm Edouard Brandon forms with Edouard Moyse and Alphonse Lévy, a group of Jewish painters and Judaism of the late nineteenth century. He also painted Christian subjects and participated in the monumental decoration of Catholic religious buildings. In 1874 he participated in the first Impressionist Painters Exhibition.
