American mandolin "THE GIBSON", model F4, years...

American mandolin "THE GIBSON", model F4, years 1912-1914 marked on the pegbox and bearing its label inside partially torn off where it is possible to see only the beginning of the numbering 17... Back with 2 points and ribs in flamed maple. The instrument has its original varnish slightly cracked. Mahogany neck, without truss rod, 24 fret ebony fingerboard with 6 mother of pearl markers, inlaid rosette. The tailpiece is engraved "The Gibson". The chrome tuners have bone buttons inlaid with small mother of pearl motifs, embellished with engravings. The original pickguard is marked "PAT.MAR.30.09" (March 30, 1909). The mandolin is accompanied by its embossed leather scabbard case with decorative motifs and bearing the mark "Trademark warranted", the two initials "NW", which is missing the handle and the leather strap for the closure. This mandolin has all its original parts. The tailpiece button is original but damaged. Expert: Richard Pick
