27,5 by 36,5 cm. (4)-209 pages, followed by 17 hors-texte plates in color, under captioned serpents, numbered from XXII to XXXVIII and a large folding map (complete). Red half-chagrin with corners, spine with 5 edges, black title pieces, with double gilt fillet on the boards. Some spotting on the binding, otherwise good condition. Scattered foxing throughout the volume.
Gaston de Saporta, an immense paleobotanist, correspondent of Darwin, he will bring proofs of the theory of evolution by the study of fossil plants.
