13 by 21 cm. XII-124 pages. Slightly posterior red half-chagrin, spine with 5 nerves, decorated with fleurons. Binding in perfect condition. A few light freckles on the first few pages (not serious), otherwise very good condition of the text.
Very rare first edition of Brillat Savarin's first work, dedicated to Louis XVIII. The author tries "to examine if the facts which constitute a duel without deloyalty, are qualified and punished" by the laws of his time, by going through the evolution of the legislation since the most remote times.
