France Honorary musket of Captain Lizeraud in the 7th Hussar Regiment Wooden stick without cheek nor busk, with RF badge, silver plate of stick in the shape of shield nailed on the stick with engraved attribution by the 1st Consul, the whole framed of oak leaves and engraved laurels (the nails also) all trimmings out of punched silver (punch first cock 1798-1808) and punch of goldsmith J.M on certain. Transformed lock with piston with marking VERSAILLES difficult to read. Barrel with sides then round with marking of Boutet practically illegible but with punch PN for the controller Pierre Bouny; iron rod head of nail, metal parts with remainder of oxidation. steel rod quoted against plate for the port with the saddle State of use, wood with hair by place. Weapon which remained in the family of the recipient during nearly two centuries and which was modified in the middle of the XIXe Century in particular with the lock. Claude Marie Lizeraud or "LIGEROT" (the spellings differ as often at the time) born in 1771 and died in 1838, distinguished himself at the battle of the Pyramids where wounded on all sides he killed several Mamelukes and captured a senior officer.
