The Dream of Poliphilo. Free translation from Italian by
J. G. Legrand. Parma, De l'Imprimerie Bodoni, 1811. 2 volumes in-4, red half-maroquin with long grain, smooth spine decorated, untrimmed (Lefebvre).
A very fine edition printed by Bodoni of this famous Renaissance book, originally published in 1499 in Venice, by the Aldus, under the title Hypnerotomachia Poliphili (Brooks, no. 1103.)
The French version by Jacques-Germain Legrand first appeared in Paris in 1804.
Some foxing on the endpapers, otherwise a fine copy, elegantly bound by Lefebvre, Bozerian's nephew and former collaborator.
