Circular box in brown tortoiseshell (Eretmochelys imbricata) lacquered in imitation of green and red shagreen, encircled with gilded brass, and painted on the lid with a miniature in gouache on ivory leaf (Elephas Maximus or Loxodonta Africana) set under glass representing the portrait of a young woman as Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons, wearing the spear and the belt of Ares, to be ravished by Heracles during the ninth of his twelve labors, the head girded with a plant crown, wearing pearls in the ears.
