Our drawing can be compared to the attitude of the girl's head in a painting that was sold in January in New York (see Christie's New York, January 25, 2023, no. 52, repr.).
The same technique, in wash and red chalk, can be found in several sheets of studies of expressive heads, notably a study for Sainte Marie l'Égyptienne (see anonymous sale, Me Yvos, Var Enchères, Le Cannet, 26 October 2013, no. 210)
