Autograph drawing signed. (s.l.), July 19, 1868. 1 p. small oblong in-folio, pen-and-ink drawing, mounted on cardboard annotated by abbé Misset.
Drawing of the young Prince Imperial, aged 12, representing a "charge of cavalry". The drawing is dated 1868 and signed "Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte". According to our abbé Misset on the cartel, it is a "curious signature" that he attributes to a "child's fantasy".
Provenance : Collection of the abbé Misset who acquired this drawing from the Maison d'autographes Charavay : Purchased in 1902 from
E. Charavay who had it from a cook (?) of the Tuileries, to whom the Prince had given it. Inventory number of the archives of Prince Victor Napoleon, n°7394.
