L.A.S. to Pierre-Napoléon Bonaparte, "représentant du Peuple", in Paris. London, August 22, 1848. 1 p. bifeuillet small in-4, address on the back, postmark. Beautiful letter addressed from the future prince-president and emperor to his cousin Pierre Bonaparte, one of Lucien's sons, evoking the revolution of 1848 and the insurrection of June "My dear cousin, I have not written to you for a long time because indeed I had nothing very interesting to tell you. Nevertheless, I have always followed with great interest everything that concerns you and I was happy to learn that you had not been wounded in June [...]. Pierre Bonaparte (1815-1881) had been elected deputy of Corsica of the young republic in April. Subject to many scandals, he will be put aside by the family and the Court under the Empire, in particular after the murder of the journalist Victor Cousin.
