Letter written 2 days after the truce of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which began the day after the end of the British mandate over Palestine, on May 14, 1948, he indicates "I have been informed of your courageous attitude and that of your collaborators during the sad day that the city of Jerusalem has just experienced. These circumstances have made even more precious to me the testimony that you have sent me on the occasion of the anniversary of June 18 [...]"
