Sewing box with decoration, China, Canton, Qing dynasty (around 1830). Lacquer with fine ornamental gold painting and multi-figure palace scenes. Octagonal box with hinged lid on carved dragon feet. One foot damaged. In the body a drawer with compartment subdivision, separate lock, under the hinged lid insert with subdivision, rich equipment with sewing utensils such as thread spools, thimbles, needle boxes, pincushions etc. Carved/ turned bone/ ivory. Gluing min. damaged, painting on the lid heavily rubbed. 16 x 36 x 26,5 cm. Fine chinese lacquer sewing box with bone/ ivory utensils, Qing dynasty, ca. 1830. Gold painted palace scenes and ornamental decoration, worn at cover. Carved dragon feet, one damaged. 16 x 36 x 26,5 cm.
