Short sword wakizashi, Japan, late 19th c. Blade signed, condition impaired, l. 48,5 cm, handle fragmentarily preserved, leather strip winding not original, cover end piece and stabbing blade missing entirely. Total length 54 cm. Scabbard wood with black-brown lacquer coating, metal parts (copper patinated) with ornamental gold inlay. With kozuka knife, blade signed, handle gilded with relief depiction of bird and leafy branches, l. 20.3 cm, and pair of chopsticks, iron, gold inlay. Flash rust. Wakizashi, blade signed, lacks of condition. With koshirae. Handle damaged/ fragmentary condition. Japan, end of 19th ct. L. 54 cm
