Cuvelier/Corentin Feldoë. Original plate n°54 of the album T2 "Les nouvelles aventures de Corentin". It was first published in the newspaper Tintin in December 1948. Superb work which illustrates the hero on all the squares in the scene of the cave with his companions Song and Kim. Text in Dutch. Magnificent collector's item. India ink and wash around 1948. 46 X 36 cm The first drawing of Paul Cuvelier (1923-1978) was published in Le Petit Vingtième in 1930 when he was not yet seven years old. A frenetic drawer, he met Hergé in 1945. In 1946, in the Journal de Tintin, he created his main character Corentin. With his Corentin chez les Peaux-rouges, and his magnificent horses, Paul Cuvelier stands out as one of the pioneers of the western genre in the Franco-Belgian comic strip. The artist devoted a true cult to the female body and, through his erotic illustrations, succeeded in creating a major artistic work.
